For a Klook media trip, we created a handmade, practical gift that reflected the brand and suited the trip: a custom Klook lanyard with a phone dry bag, designed in Klook’s signature orange for a water-based experience.
It wasn’t just a branded lanyard.
It became part of the journey.
From Brief to Product
Our corporate merchandise projects begin with a conversation.
For Klook, we studied the presentation deck, event context, audience and intended use of the merchandise. Rather than asking, “What can we put a logo on?”, we asked:
“What would actually be useful to the media during this trip?”
The answer led us to combine a phone lanyard with a practical phone dry bag.
Designing Around Klook’s Orange
Colour played an important role in the design.
We experimented with different paracord combinations before settling on a palette that felt recognisably Klook while retaining the handmade character of the product.
The final concept combined:
A handmade paracord lanyard + a phone dry bag + Klook’s brand colour.
The result was a more thoughtful alternative to a conventional promotional giveaway.
Handmade Corporate Merchandise
At JINI Studio, we don’t simply select an existing product and add a logo.
Our roots come from KD Goods, a Malaysian handmade paracord brand founded during MCO in 2021. Over the years, we developed hundreds of designs and explored different ways to turn paracord into useful everyday products.
That experience shapes how we approach corporate merchandise today.
For the Klook project, each lanyard was crafted with the event and user experience in mind.
Designed for the Experience
Because the media trip involved water, protecting their phones was an actual need.
The dry bag wasn’t just decorative. It allowed participants to carry their phones while keeping them protected, making the gift useful immediately.
That is what we look for when designing corporate gifts and event merchandise:
Can people use it right away?
If the answer is yes, the product becomes part of the event itself.
From Product to Experience
We also wanted the unboxing to feel personal.
Each lanyard was individually wrapped in paper with the recipient’s name. Instead of receiving another generic giveaway, each media guest received something prepared specifically for them.
They opened the gifts, put on the lanyards and used them during the trip.
The product became part of the experience in real time.
Why This Corporate Gift Worked
There is a difference between putting a logo on something and designing something around a brand experience.
For this Klook media trip:
- The lanyard carried something important — their phone
- The dry bag protected it from water
- The handmade construction made the gift feel personal
- The orange colour created an immediate connection to Klook
Together, these details made the merchandise practical, memorable and relevant.
Making the Brand Part of the Memory
The goal of corporate merchandise isn’t always just to make a logo visible.
Sometimes, it is about making the brand part of a moment people remember.
The media may remember the activities, the water and the trip itself. Hopefully, they will also remember opening their personalised Klook lanyards and using them immediately.
